On Tuesday 7 May, Sustainability First published a letter highlighting issues in the Review of Electricity Market Arrangements (REMA) second consultation. It asked for a full economic impact assessment of the costs and benefits of the options to deliver a net zero power system by 2035, which would produce a fuller picture of the likely costs and benefits. It also stressed the continuing need for a strong focus on fair end-user outcomes from REMA and called for the REMA reforms to bridge clearly with the DESNZ and Ofgem work-streams for future retail markets and for energy affordability.
