As part of its work in progress, the National Audit Office (NAO) has announced an upcoming paper that aims to examine how BEIS is set up to achieve power sector decarbonisation while maintaining security of electricity supply, and affordability for customers and taxpayers.
The report is expected to consider the government’s vision for a decarbonised power sector; the government’s understanding of what is required to achieve a resilient and decarbonised power sector; and the government’s ability to recognise and manage risks to resilience and affordability in a decarbonised power sector.
